Love Came Down

Though at birth the Savior lay
In a lowly bed of hay,
Starlight streaming from above
Encircled Him with bonds of love.

Humble shepherds in the night
Heard the angels, saw the light;
So they left their fields to go
To the Blessed Child below.

Wisemen coming from afar,
Guided only by a star,
Reached the place where Jesus lay --
Precious Baby in the hay.

Mary's arms were 'round Him there;
Joseph, too, showed tender care.
Love came down to earth that night,
Bringing joy and peace and light.
